Forced-Air Heating & Central AC in Chicago
The furnace or AC is only part of your comfort.
Start with what needs to change.
Maybe your furnace is ready for replacement, your AC struggles upstairs, or you’re planning a system from scratch. I work on furnaces, central air conditioning, air handlers, ducted heat pumps, and dual-fuel systems. We can look at one piece of equipment or the complete system without assuming everything needs to go.
Give the equipment the airflow it needs.
I look at supply and return ducts, the filter, indoor coil, blower, and controls together. Measurements and equipment performance data help me assess what can stay and where changes would help. That may mean fitted sheet-metal transitions, improved returns, balancing, zoning, filtration, or a humidifier.
Make the selection fit your home.
For new designs, I measure and assess loads room by room. For replacements, I consider the existing installation and the selected equipment’s capacity and compatibility. With heat pumps or dual fuel, that includes cold-weather output and the backup-heating strategy. You get options and tradeoffs, not pressure to choose a particular brand.
Finish the installation with readings.
Clean duct connections, accessible equipment, and thoughtful gas, vent, drain, and refrigerant routing all matter. Commissioning includes the checks appropriate to your system: airflow and static pressure, furnace temperature rise and combustion, refrigerant checks, and control operation. I follow manufacturer requirements and adjust the setup for the system it is connected to.
